PRACSIS was in Barcelona last week for the European Commission’s annual INSPIRE conference, which it organised in cooperation with the Joint Research Centre and the Geological and Cartographic Institute of Catalonia.
PRACSIS was responsible for all audio-visual services on site, stage direction during the plenary sessions, and producing video recordings of 90 individual sessions—nearly 150 hours of footage.

PRACSIS organised EUGreenWeek 30 May to 3 June 2016, Europe’s largest series of events on environment policy. In line with the Juncker Commission’s priorities of creating jobs and growth in Europe, this year’s Green Week carried the theme ‘Investing for a greener future’.
Investing is about more than money. It’s about creating jobs and taking people out of unemployment. It’s about ensuring our children breathe cleaner air on their way to school, it’s about using raw materials and resources more efficiently, it’s about preventing waste, and much more besides.
The many facets of green investment feature was throughout the week. Events and activities was take place across Europe, centred round a high-level conference in Brussels on Wednesday 1 June, with a wide variety of organisations and partners taking part.
To show how the investments of today can help a “Greener Future” become a reality, each day of the week was focus on different aspects of the theme.

Several recent events organised by the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam and PRACSIS in Southeast Asia have presented good opportunities for dialogue, matching of interests and visibility for EU business activities in Vietnam.
The 2016 STI Days provide an opportunity to increase the visibility of EU activities in SEA, to reach EU and SEA businesses, and to enable a dialogue with government and academia including successful EU business examples with market potential in SEA.
Specific Actions (Workshop Objectives).
. Value business recommendations and suggest a white paper as follow-up of the session with EuroCham-EVBN advocacy group(s), especially to see activities &opportunities in the wide range of EU&ASEAN funded programmes, as well as other relevant stakeholders initiatives.
. Provide a platform for dialogue and matching of businesses, academia and other stakeholders to convene for follow-up actions bridging ASEAN and Europe.
. Identification of key-areas for H2020 and EcoAP which have the potential to tackle market opportunities, and contribute to favorable framework conditions closely linked to Research and Innovation in both ASEAN and Europe.

PRACSIS continues its longstanding cooperation with European Commission’s DG Environment as a contractor of the prestigious European Green Capital Award and European Green Leaf. Under the contract, worth EUR 2,8 million, PRACSIS will deliver full secretariat and public relations services.The Award underscores the pivotal role of local authorities in environmental protection. Winners such as Bristol (2015), Copenhagen (2014), Nantes (2013) and Vitoria-Gasteiz (2012) have continued to showcase best examples in urban environmental protection, making the Awards a flagship programme of DG Environment.
PRACSIS will raise awareness across Europe about their leading examples. The management of the application procedure, the organisation of expert meetings, the promotion of the competition and stakeholder engagement will all be in the hands of PRACSIS’s public relations team.
PRACSIS has already been the organiser of five European Green Capital handover ceremonies and will continue this tradition when Bristol passes over the torch to Ljubljana in January 2016.
With the increased success of the European Green Capital Award, the scheme has opened up to smaller-sized towns and cities, which can now apply for the European Green Leaf.
Following upon Bristol’s success story of being 2015’s European Green Capital, all eyes will be on Essen in 2016. The cities Mollet del Vallès (Spain) and Torres Vedras (Portugal) have received the inaugural European Green Leaf 2016.
PRACSIS supported dissemination activities from DG RTI in Vietnam.
The Horizon 2020 (H2020) EU grant and research funding programme means a lot of opportunities for research institutions and businesses – also in ASEAN. Thus dissemination seminars were initiated by the European Commission (Directorate General Research, Technolgoy and Innovation – RTI). Read More…

IGEM 2015, KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA
The 6th International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia (IGEM) is promoting Green Technology and Eco-Products, from 9th – 12th September 2015 in Kuala Lumpur. The EU Pavilion would count at least 12 booths.
